Qualcomm's CMO is replaced after criticizing the A7 chip produced by Apple

Anand Chandrasekher is the former Chief Marketing Office of those from Qualcomm, him stating a few weeks ago that the launch of the chip A7 and Apple's promotion of 64-bit architecture is just a marketing strategy. He stated that the 64-bit architecture does not offer any real performance increase for users, the Qualcomm PR team then contacted various publications around the globe, including iDevice.ro, to provide a modified version of his CMO's statements, claiming that he had been misinterpreted.

Anand Chandrasekher, is moving to a new role leading our exploration of certain enterprise related initiatives... Anand will continue to report to Steve Mollenkopf, COO and President of Qualcomm. This will be effective immediately. I know there's a lot of noise because Apple did [64-bit] on their A7. I think they are doing a marketing gimmick. There's zero benefit a consumer gets from that.

Following his thoughtless statements, the CMO he lost his position held within the company, being now moved to a less important division where he will probably stay for a few months before leaving the company. The problem for Qualcomm is that soon the company will launch processors based on the same architecture and if the head of its marketing division says that they are just a promotion strategy, then who can believe anything else the company presents in relation to these products?

Finally, even if these products do not offer real advantages in terms of performance, the companies protect each other, because the 64-bit architecture is the new "gold mine" for the sale of mobile terminals.
