2014 will bring us the first smartphones with 4 GB of RAM

If in 2013 Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), proves that a smartphone with a 64-bit dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM has better performance than chips with 8 cores and 2/3 GB RAM, well in 2014 we are talking about a completely different battle. Android terminal manufacturers are trying to prove to us that the operating system needs at least as much RAM as a desktop, so Samsung is going to implement in future smartphones up to 4 GB DDR4 RAM to cover the needs of all types of users.

The new DDR4 chips developed by Samsung offer up to 50% better performance than DDR3 chips, while energy consumption is reduced by up to 40%. Although the Koreans did not specify when these new chips will go into production, sometime in 2014 the first components would be ready for implementation in smartphones. Even if it is unlikely that the Samsung Galaxy SV will contain such a chip, perhaps in the Samsung smartphones launched towards the end of 2014 we will find 4 GB of RAM.
