iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite iCloud Drive - details plus the partnership with Box

  iCloud Drive this a new system which is to be launched by the Apple company this fall for iOS 8 si OS X Yosemite, and through it we can store any kind of files in iCloud and we can access them from any mobile terminals or computers. Uploading files will be possible from any of the products Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, or even from Windows, and they can be accessed using a web browser.

Now you have the freedom to work with the document of your choice on the device of your choice. Because with iCloud Drive, you can safely store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, and any other kind of document in iCloud and access them from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.

  The system is similar to the one offered by dropbox or Google Drive, all files can be modified in real time by anyone from any type of terminal. All the files with related changes can then be downloaded under any conditions by us and of course they can be shared wherever we want. The interconnectivity between various applications will also allow you to edit or create applications in various environments and transfer them quickly, all only in iOS 8 si OS X Yosemite.

To upload your files to iCloud, simply drag them into the iCloud Drive on your Mac running OS X Yosemite or PC running Windows 8. Or start a new document using an iCloud-enabled app on your iOS device. Then you'll be able to access those documents from all your devices.

 The whole system is announced to be extremely good, and the interesting part is that Apple collaborates with Box for its implementation in iCloud. For now, it is not known how complex the collaboration between the two companies is, but Apple intends to significantly reduce the price of storage space for iCloud based on the prices below, they are much, much lower than those practiced by Dropbox and similar to those practiced by Box.

  • 5 GB – free;
  • 20 GB – $0.99/month, $12/year;
  • 200 GB – $3.99/month, $48/year.
