BigBoss repo hacked, tweaks and packages remain safe

BigBoss repo hack - iDevice.ro

During the last evening I told you that the BigBoss repo was hacked by hackers, all the tweaks and applications available through it being retrieved along with its database and being made available to us for FREE download. At the time of learning the information, it was speculated that the hackers would have affected the server packages in some way BigBossBut saurik denied this information during this day.

This article mentions malware being potentially injected into the BigBoss repository; we do not believe this to be the case. Packages in Cydia repositories are cryptographically verified from the repository package index. I have an index of all historic changes to the package indices for default repositories, and have verified that the content on BigBoss did not change in ways that the repository administrators did not expect.

Practically any package available in the repo BigBoss it's safe to install, so you don't have to worry from that point of view, but it remains to be seen if the hackers have taken other user information. Having said that, the BigBoss repo was hacked for the first time by hackers and no one knows the reason for now, but we will probably find out in the coming weeks.
