Utilizarea sapphire glass to protect the screen iPhone 6 has given rise to numerous controversies, various analysts and professionals presenting the advantages and disadvantages of its use at the expense of Gorilla Glass. To demonstrate again how resistant each type of material is, the above video clips were made, in which they were compared protective panels for Gorilla Glass screen and others produced using sapphire glass.

The tests were divided into three categories regarding: scratch resistance, impact resistance and elasticity (hardness) of the panel, for each test, special devices are used to destroy each type of panel. A smartphone was used for impact resistance tests Kyocera Brigadier which has a screen protected by sapphire glass, a drill was used for the scratch tests, and a special device that bent the panels was used for the hardness (elasticity) tests.

After tests, it was discovered that sapphire glass resists scratches better than Gorilla Glass and is 25% harder, but it has less elasticity and breaks even if the terminal is dropped on cement from a height of 1 meter. These conclusions are not new, we have known them for many months and I am sure that Apple assumes them since it decided to use sapphire glass at least for some of the iPhone 6 terminals.
