Apple iBooks registers 1 million monthly users thanks to the implementation as a native application of iOS 8.

iBooks It is an application Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), which offers access to the iBookstore, the store through which books, magazines and much more are sold to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners. The iBooks application is preinstalled in iOS 8 and the decision to offer this application natively in the operating system generated a serious increase in the number of users.

According to the director Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), for iBooks, 1 million new users are registered weekly in the iBooks system since iOS 8 registration, most of them downloading content for free. Apple's director specified in a recent conference that Apple's main motivation is to turn these "free" users into users who buy books and other digital content from the iBookstore.

Separately from pre-installing iBooks in iOS 8, the director of Apple, Keith Moerer, claims that the Family Sharing system also contributes to the evolution of the system. Through Family sharing, a family can buy digital content that can be shared with a maximum of 6 people, this motivates the purchase of books or magazines that are read as a family.

Despite the increase in terms of the number of users, the sales registered through iBooks did not grow directly proportional to the users, those from Apple not having high expectations from this point of view. Even so, Apple intends to focus on new methods of promoting its online store to increase sales, and we will probably meet them soon.
