MacBook Pro - Apple launches a repair program

MacBook Pro screen problems

In case you didn't already know, some MacBook Pro- launched by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), between 2011 and 2013, they had serious problems with the graphics cards used to display images on the screens. In the image above you can see the problem that some users have encountered while using MacBooks over time, the only solution being the replacement of the graphics card or the logic card. Because a very large number of customers initiated petitions and even sued the American company because of this problem, Apple finally announced the initiation of a program to repair it.

MacBook Pros with 15-inch and 17-inch screens manufactured in 2011, plus MacBook Pro Retina Displays with 15-inch screens manufactured in 2012 and early 2013 can be accepted in the program, so the rest are not part of it. To find out if your product can benefit from the American company's program, you will have to access this page and the product series was checked. If the unit is one of the affected ones, the Apple company offers the option of repairing them by bringing them to a store or delivering them to a repair center.

If users have repaired their MacBooks themselves at a Apple Store or authorized Apple service, the American company can return the money for those repairs, but those made in unauthorized locations are not included here. As usual, the program will initially be launched in the USA and Canada starting tomorrow, with other countries following to be part of it starting on February 27. Considering the way the program is thought, initially only the countries with Apple Stores will benefit from it, following that the countries with authorized services will offer the program later.

According to the Apple company, the program will run until February 27, 2016, or up to a maximum of 3 years from the date of first purchase of the MacBook Pro, so that anyone who has problems can benefit from a free repair, additional details being available in this page.
