Apple Watch manufacturer admits manufacturing issues

Apple Watch productionThe Apple Watch is developed by Apple but produced by the company Quanta in Asia, and today its CEO admitted the existence of major problems in manufacturing the new smart watch of the Apple company. Production problems Apple Watch are due, according to Quanta's CEO, to the lack of employees during the Chinese New Year, Quanta being forced to borrow people from other partners in order to be able to fulfill its contractual obligations towards the Apple company.

Despite the efforts, Quanta managed to produce only limited quantities of the Apple Watch in Q1 2015, but the company's CEO claims that the production problems have been resolved and that now its factories are at maximum production capacity. According to the same man, Quanta has the only production capacity needed to meet all of Apple's demands, so starting this month we should see a serious improvement in delivery times for the Apple Watch.

Because of labor shortages during the Lunar New Year holidays, Quanta was forced to borrow manpower from other manufacturers and was only able to deliver limited shipments in the first quarter. However, Quanta already has sufficient capacity to manufacture all the orders and should see a giant contribution from its wearable device business in the second quarter.

Without making a reference direct to Apple and Apple Watch, the CEO of Quanta claims that the smartwatch manufactured by his company is much more complex than other similar products manufactured so far, so production is more difficult. Despite this, it seems that Apple would be satisfied with the way the first units of its watch are produced, even though there are various problems with it.

However, Leung declined to state the name of its client or its products. Leung noted that the wearable device is unlike the smartwatches it produced before and has a lot of functions in it and its client is satisfied with the product.

So far I have found out that the Apple Watch screen detaches from the case and that some units might have faulty Force Touch modules, but apart from this everything seems to be normal. Tim Cook stated that Apple will cover the demand on the market for the Apple Watch only from June, so until then it is better not to expect to find the product in large quantities in stores.
