BMW, Audi and Daimler buy Nokia HERE Maps for 2.7 billion dollars

Nokia has been negotiating exclusively with the three car makers over the sale of the company.

Nokia HERE Maps is one of the most complete geolocation systems on the planet with coverage in an extremely large number of countries and many points of interest, especially in Europe, the continent of origin and main interest for the Nokia company.

Even if at one point it was said that Apple would be interested in buying Nokia HERE Maps, in the end, the platform will reach car manufacturers who will improve their navigation systems with much more accurate maps than those used by TomTom or other manufacturers.

The sale is to be completed in the next period, but no one knows how many years could pass until Nokia HERE Maps will be found in cars.
