BMW and Apple bring to the iPhone something you've been waiting for a long time

BMW and Apple are collaborating to bring to iPhones something that until now was offered only for Android phones, possibly only certain models, but starting with iOS 14 it seems that even iDevice owners will have something similar available.

BMW and Apple are collaborating so that, starting with iOS 14, users of iPhone phones, maybe Apple Watch, can unlock their cars and start their engine, using only mobile terminals and CarKey, a special API that Apple makes available.

BMW, as you can see above, already has the technology implemented in its cars, please, the technology has been there for many years, but now also phones with NFC can connect to the car to allow unlocking and starting the engine, including for sharing the key to other people.

BMW has also implemented support in its new cars for a standard called Digital Key, which was developed by several car manufacturers to facilitate the use of phones instead of physical keys, but also for sharing the key with people other than the owner.

BMW collaborates with Apple to bring the technology to iOS 14 and the phones of the Americans, perhaps even exclusively, Tim Cook being a fan of the brand's cars, so it will be interesting to see what could be presented in June, at WWDC 2020.
