iMac 4K 21.5 inch - here's when it will be released

iMac 4K 21.5-inchiMac 4K 21.5-inch was mentioned for the first time after OS X El Capitan provided the first evidence of its existence, and now we learn the first important details about its availability on the market later this year.

According to sources close to Apple, the iMac 4K 21.5 inches will be released in the fall of this year, more precisely by the end of November, and it will be available for purchase after the release of OS X El Capitan, the latest version of OS X.

Apple intends to present the iMac 4K 21.5 inches in October, most likely in an event where it will also present new iPad models, the launch being scheduled a month later, as is generally the case with new Macs released by Apple.

Based on the information available in OS X El Capitan, iMac 4K 21.5 inches will have a resolution of 4096 x 2304 pixels, much larger than the 1920 x 1080 pixels offered by the current model, but this is not the only major change prepared by Apple.

Apple is indeed planning to release a new version of its 21.5-inch iMac with a 4K display this fall. The current plan is to announce the refreshed version of the smaller iMac by the end of October, begin shipping the product by the beginning of November. Faster processors and improved color saturation can also be expected.

Those from Cupertino have seriously improved the saturation of the colors displayed by the screen, and to support the new resolution, new processors have been implemented, most likely the Skylake recently released by Intel, so, in theory, the user experience should be great.

Because we are talking about a major upgrade, there are very high chances that the price of the iMac 4K 21.5 inches will be higher than that of the current models, but at the moment it is not known by what amount it will increase, but it seems that the old iMac models will be maintained still for sale.
