Apple can't access the data on your iPhone

Apple can't access the data on your iPhoneApple cannot access data from iPhone terminals locked with a security code, the information being provided by Apple through a judicial document submitted to an American court in response to the demands of the US Department of Justice regarding the possibility of providing data from terminals locked with security codes.

Apple claims that any iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 8 or iOS 9 are impossible for it to access in order to provide the data stored by users, the statement being made many months ago by Tim Cook to questions similar of journalists.

Apple claims that the improved security system of iOS 8 and iOS 9 prevents it from accessing data saved in terminals locked with a security code, the American company claiming that over 90% of all iDevices run one of the two versions of iOS.

Turning now to the 10% of terminals whose data can be accessed, the Apple company claims that it will do so only if it receives legal documentation from government agencies or the courts in the US, most of the requests for providing data being made in this way.

Forcing Apple to extract data in this case, absent clear legal authority to do so, could threaten the trust between Apple and its customers and substantially tarnish the Apple brand.

A court hearing in this case has been scheduled for Friday and then it will be determined if Apple can be forced to take data from these terminals, but if it cannot do it from a technical point of view, it will be very interesting how it could be forced to do it.
