iPhone with flexible OLED screen is one step closer to release

Un iPhone with OLED screen flexible is one step closer to launch, as Apple has registered a new patent that describes a method by which such a smartphone can be developed in order to appear on the market in the not too distant future.

At the moment there are multiple rumors that indicate that a iPhone with OLED screen will be launched by the Apple company in 2018 at the latest, and the appearance of this patent does nothing but confirm the intentions of those from Cupertino.

In the patent registered by Apple for a iPhone with flexible OLED screen those from Cupertino also describe a method by which components of the terminal register the way the terminal is deformed and actuate various functions in the iOS operating system.

Apart from controlling iOS functions, screen deformation could provide various control methods for games installed in your terminals, and closing or opening terminals could be made much easier by simply bending the device.

An electronic device, comprising: a housing having first and second rigid portions joined by a flexible portion, wherein the first rigid portion is movable relative to the second rigid portion; a flexible display configured to flex with the housing; at least one sensor that detects flexing of the flexible display; and control circuitry that gathers sensor signals from the at least one sensor and performs user input functions based on the sensor signals.

The best part of launching such a terminal is that Apple iPhones will be much more resistant in case of impact, and this is because a device that was thought to be deformed by the user withstands shocks much better than a terminal with a rigid case.

No one knows when an iPhone with a flexible OLED screen could be released, but we can probably expect Apple to give us interesting surprises in the coming years.
