McDonald's offers fitness bracelets with every Happy Meal

McDonald's, one of the largest fast food chains on the planet, is offering free fitness bracelets to those who buy a Happy Meal, the devices being quite rudimentary in functionality, but colorful enough to attract children's attention and motivate them to wear them when playing.

Called STEP it, the fitness bracelet offered free of charge by McDonald's with each Happy Meal sold in the US and Canada will display on the screen every step taken by children in their daily play, and parents will probably want to motivate the little ones to do more exercise if they want to keep eating Happy Meal- hate.

Those from McDonald's I argue that the initiative aims to convince children to do more physical exercises in their everyday life, but it remains to be seen if a simple this kind of bracelet has the ability to convince any child to spend more time outdoors playing with friends than sitting at the computer, possibly on Facebook.

For now, it is not known if the McDonald's project will be extended to other areas on the planet, but if it turns out to be a success, then there are chances that other countries will benefit from the laudable idea that the company applies it in the USA and Canada.
