It was officially launched yesterday MacOS Sierra for all Mac owners around the world, and one of the new functions prepared by Apple is unlocking with Apple Watch. Basically, the Apple Watch and a Mac are interconnected via Bluetooth to unlock the computer without using a password, but only if we have the watch next to the Mac.
Someone asked from what distance a Mac can be unlocked using the Apple Watch, and in the video clip below you have a test done by him, the maximum distance for unlocking being 2.7 meters. We are talking about quite a distance, and in a larger office someone will be able to unlock the Mac remotely, even if you are not near it.
This distance was obtained without any object being placed between the watch and the Mac, the distance decreasing if there are objects that affect the Bluetooth signal.
