Samsung Galaxy S8 – standard 1080p resolution, AKG headphones

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus have Infinity Display screens with a very large diagonal, but also with an unexpectedly high resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. This is 400 pixels larger than the one used last year in the Samsung Galaxy S7, so theoretically the Samsung Galaxy S8 should display everything at a much higher resolution, right?

Well, no. According to those from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus terminals will display images at 1080p resolution as standard. More precisely, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will display images at a resolution of approximately 2220 x 1080 pixels, or something close, but users will have the opportunity to choose the resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels themselves from the settings menu.

This is an FHD+ resolution and is only slightly higher than the 1920 x 1080 pixels in the iPhone 7 Plus, the difference of 300 pixels representing only 20% of the total Apple product. Practically, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will not display the images at a resolution much higher than that of the iPhone 7 Plus by default, and this is because it would have a very high energy consumption.

Moving on, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have included in its box a pair of AKG headphones from Harman Kardon, recently bought by Samsung. We are talking about a pair of headphones whose sales value is 100 dollars, so Samsung is giving an unexpected gift as Apple was not able to do after buying Beats.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also the first smartphone capable of reaching gigabit internet browsing speeds through 4G LTE networks. Thanks to its new processor and its new modem, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be able to surf the Internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbps in the networks that will offer support, for now there are none.

Basically, we are talking about two key differences between the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 7 series, plus a similarity that makes the screen less spectacular, at least until the high resolution is activated.
