Apple halves the prices of iPhone and iPad applications

Although last week an increase in the selling prices of the AppStore applications was announced, today we woke up to a very interesting surprise from Apple. The minimum prices that developers can now apply for applications are 0.49 euros, instead of 0.99 euros, which was allowed by the Apple company until recently in Europe and Romania.

Apple increased the old prices by at least 10 cents in most cases, so that the applications that until today cost 0.99 euros, now cost 1.09 euros. However, developers have the option to sell their applications at lower prices, so they can choose to start from 0.99 euros, or keep the old price of 0.99 euros through a modification made for the application.

Apple has introduced today in iTunes Connect for the AppStore a multitude of alternative options regarding the choice of prices for the applications sold. In this idea, developers now have a much wider range of high and low prices to choose from to ensure that their creation is sold at the most attractive price.

These alternative prices were available until now in some countries around the world, but starting today they are also available in Europe for us. It's hard to say how many developers will choose to sell applications at prices that start from only 0.49 euros, but those who will may be surprised to find new customers in the AppStore.
