Google Assistant - the real reason for the release on the iPhone

Google Assistant was launched for iPhone and iPad because there are more compatible premium terminals than in the Android platform.

Google Assistant was launched this week for the iPhone by the company Google, the move taking everyone by surprise, considering the way Google viewed everything. Google Assistant was initially launched only for the Google Pixel last year, but now just over 100 million premium Android smartphones can install it, the only ones capable of supporting it.

Basically, Google makes it clear that of the 2 billion active Android terminals worldwide, only a little over 100 million are powerful enough to run Google Assistant. This represents 5% of the total number of active terminals and we are definitely talking about premium models of Android terminals on which Google Assistant can run without problems, but the figure is surprisingly small.

By launching Google Assistant for iPhone and iPad, the people from Google ensure access to almost 1 billion iDevices capable of running this application at the moment. Google Assistant for iOS can run on any iDevices that have installed at least iOS 9.1 at the moment, that is, somewhere over 90% of all active iDevices.

Google Assistant - the real reason for the release on the iPhone

For now, Google Assistant is only available in the US, the country where about a third of all iDevices are sold annually, so theoretically we are talking about about 300 million compatible terminals. Already the list of devices that can run Google Assistant is 3 times larger than that of Android terminals, and only from here will Google be able to receive information that will help its personal assistant to evolve.

Unfortunately for those at Google, the iOS platform remains the one that provides the vast majority of the information that its services currently rely on to function. iDevices generate the most internet traffic at the moment in the whole world and most likely will generally have the highest number of questions for Google Assistant.

We all know that the overwhelming majority of Android terminals sold each fiscal quarter are not premium, and here we have new proof of this coming directly from Google.
