iPhone 8 – New Confirmation of Surprise Change

iPhone 8 will have Touch ID integrated in the Power button instead of the Home button, because Apple does not want to give up the fingerprint reader.

iPhone 8 has, as you already know very well, many major novelties, and among them is one that could bring a Power button almost double the size of the one in iPhone 7. No one knows for sure why the iPhone 8 will have such a long Power button, but it has been speculated for many weeks that Apple intends to integrate the Power button there, because it has nowhere else to implement it.

iPhone 8 will not have a physical button under the screen, so the Home button will become virtual in iOS 11, but Apple cannot even integrate Touch ID under the screen of the new smartphone. Apple does not want to integrate Touch ID into the iPhone 8 case, so the Power button seems to have been chosen by the Americans to place Touch ID in order not to completely eliminate this biometric security system, which I would prove to be very important.

iPhone 8 with Touch ID in the Power button would allow users to scan their fingerprints further to secure the devices, even scanning would not be as simple. Placing your finger on the Power button to unlock an iPhone 8 is not as simple as placing your finger in the location of the Home button, but rather than having Touch ID in the case, I think it is better to have it in the Power button.

iPhone 8 – the new confirmation of the surprise change

The iPhone 8 has a possible confirmation of this major change in an Apple patent that describes the placement of Touch ID in a Power button. Apple explains very clearly in that patent how a fingerprint reader could find a place in the Power button of a smartphone, so the iPhone 8 could easily benefit from this technology thought by Apple itself.

The iPhone 8 will also have a facial recognition system through which the Apple company is trying to offer an alternative to the use of Touch ID. There is a possibility that Apple will allow the use of Touch ID and facial recognition in iPhone 8, the reading of fingerprints can only be used in the case of mobile payments with Apple Pay, or the securing of other more sensitive data from terminals.

iPhone 8 will definitely have a major change for Touch ID, but for now no one seems to be quite sure about the finality of the change. The Apple company seems to have problems in making the desired changes for Touch ID, so no one knows for sure if this new fingerprint reader will end up in the screen, or in the Power button, but it is quite clear that it will not disappear.
