Apple accused of Disclosing Industrial Secrets

Apple is accused of revealing industrial secrets, a new lawsuit being filed against those from Cupertino, the accusations being unprecedented.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is accused by the company Qualcomm that he disclosed industrial secrets to Intel, the latter competing with Qualcomm for orders of modems dedicated to iPhones and iPads. The accusation was made in a new lawsuit that Qualcomm filed in an American court against Apple, Intel apparently benefiting from software developed by Qualcomm.

Intel would have used Qualcomm's software to develop its modems that have since arrived in Apple's iPhones and iPads, and this is a major problem. It is not known what kind of evidence Qualcomm has to support these accusations in court, but if they are true, then the Apple company can no longer comment when it comes to the disclosure of iPhone secrets by the press.

If Apple really offered Intel access to Qualcomm's proprietary software and/or hardware without the consent of the latter, then we are talking first of all about something immoral, and then about something illegal. Of course, for this Apple could even pay up to several hundred million dollars in damages to Qualcomm, but everything depends on proving these claims in court.

Apple and Qualcomm are involved in an extremely complex legal battle, so far those from Qualcomm have lost 90% of their quarterly profit in Q3 2017, but things will not stop there.

"The chipmaker filed the lawsuit against Apple on Wednesday in California state court in San Diego, adding yet another front to their bitter legal battle. Apple is being sued for breach of a contract that governs the use of software needed to make chips work with other parts of mobile phones and communicate with networks."
