Digi Mobil reduces roaming charges in the EU, the mobile operator making the announcement during this day for customers who use the services in Europe. Although a few months ago the people from Digi Mobil requested the application of an exception to the rule of offering benefits in Romania and in roaming, here they are now announcing that they are reducing roaming tariffs for customers.
Digi Mobil announced that starting in November, customers traveling in the European Economic Area, i.e. the EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, will have rates reduced by up to 50%. We are talking here about discounts of up to 50% for minutes, SMS and Internet traffic used in roaming for Digi Mobil, the change being interesting.
Digi Mobil reduces the roaming internet tariff by the largest amount, 47%, so that the price per MB reaches 0,00336 euros, or 3,36 euros for each GB of internet traffic. For phone calls, Digi Mobil will charge a cost of 0,0215 euros per minute, while for SMS we are talking about a cost of 0,005 euros per SMS.
Digi Mobil will not charge any cost for the SMS received when we are roaming, as is normal, but in the case of minutes, the same principle does not apply, as you already know. The change made by Digi Mobil applies to all customers who have subscriptions, and it could generate a reaction from the other operators.
Digi Mobil surprised when it asked not to apply the European rules regarding the provision of benefits from national and Roaming subscriptions, but it is still surprising now with this change. To be completely honest, I'm happy with what Digi Mobil is doing, because this will force Orange, Vodafone and Telekom to make better offers for roaming services.
