CES 2018 brings a world premiere from the company Samsung, more precisely one television set modular microLED that was called The Wall, having a diagonal of 146 inches, 370cm, or 3.7 meters. Below you have a video clip that presents the product and below it you can read in Samsung's press release for CES 2018 everything that The Wall represents for the company and the future of microLED.

I want to focus on the microLED technology, because Samsung managed to create a product based on it, although Apple has been struggling for several years to do this and despite the investments, so far it has not succeeded. Apple has invested in at least one development center for microLED screens dedicated to the iPhone and Apple Watch, but a recent rumor suggests that it will no longer focus so much on the technology.

Considering the announcement at CES 2018 made by Samsung for The Wall TV, the situation in which the microLED technology is located is quite interesting. If Samsung managed to present a TV with a 146-inch microLED screen, why can't Apple make microLED screens with a diagonal of 5.8 inches for mobile phones?

To be completely honest, I expect Apple to invest more in microLED after Samsung presented The Wall, or to choose to buy screens from Koreans for the future products it will launch. microLED has a number of serious advantages compared to OLED screens, image quality, dimensions and energy consumption being among them, and Samsung could be a future solution for Apple.
