The FBI has watched from the shadows everything that has happened within Facebook so far, but also the way the company has chosen to treat things, so now it will start looking for those responsible for the entire scandal. For starters, the FBI wants to see what Facebook knew about the application that collected people's data, and what it hid.

"Representatives for the FBI, the SEC and the Federal Trade Commission have joined the Department of Justice in its inquiries about the two companies and the sharing of personal information of 71 million Americans, suggesting the wide-ranging nature of the investigation. The questioning from federal investigators centers on what Facebook knew three years ago and why the company didn't reveal it at the time to its users or investors."

The FBI could go against Mark Zuckerberg, the president of Facebook, as well as other people within the company, if their public statements were not completely true. It will be interesting to see what the FBI will discover, but also what it will choose to say publicly about the biggest scandal in which the Facebook company was involved.
