Samsung GALAXY S9 and Note 9 have weaker cameras than iPhone XS Max, say experts from DxOMark, who had the opportunity to test the new camera integrated by Apple in the iPhone XS series. According to them, the iPhone XS Max gets 105 points in their testing, 2 more than the Samsung GALAXY Note 9, and 6 more than the Samsung GALAXY S9 in the Plus version.
The Samsung GALAXY S9 and Note 9 are surpassed by the iPhone XS Max in terms of camera quality, but the Huawei P20 Pro remains king with 109 points recorded, and it is likely that some phone will dethrone it too soon. iPhone XS Max gets 110 points for photo and 96 points for video, more than Samsung GALAXY S9 or Samsung GALAXY Note 9, the Apple company managing to pass the Koreans in the end, but still not reaching the first place.

The iPhone XS Max does not have as good a camera for recording in low-light conditions, here being surpassed by the Huawei P20 Pro, according to experts, but most likely also by the Samsung GALAXY S9.
"Both still and video image quality in bright light are excellent, with a very wide dynamic range and good detail. Autofocus and image stabilization work swiftly and efficiently, and the camera is very reliable overall, consistently delivering good results. In lower light, luminance noise becomes a little more intrusive than with other high-end phones, and the iPhone's zoom mode lags somewhat behind the competition (specifically, the Huawei P20 Pro) as well. However, if that doesn't bother you too much, the new Apple device is a surefire option for any mobile photographer."
The Samsung GALAXY S9 and Samsung GALAXY Note 9 have already been surpassed by the iPhone XS Max, and they are no longer a problem for Apple, but Huawei is a completely different discussion, the Americans not having a solution for the Chinese yet. To be completely honest, I expected the Samsung GALAXY S9 to be surpassed by the iPhone XS Max camera, but not the Samsung GALAXY Note 9, but Apple manages to amaze in 2018 with the phones it releases.
