Huawei. The victim of the US in the trade war waged against China, the company is also the reason why many companies in the country have decided to forbid their employees from buying iPhones. Considering that the USA has banned Huawei products in its institutions, and their ban is being considered throughout the country, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), could be targeted by the Chinese government with similar measures, and the company's president spoke today about this fear.

Huawei. The president of Apple, Tim Cook, said today that he is not afraid that he could be the target of reprisals from the Chinese government, the same being true even in the case of the company he currently leads. Tim Cook stated that he is not afraid that he could be arrested by the Chinese government, as happened to the daughter of the president of the Huawei company in Canada, and this is normal, because he did not do anything that Meng Wanzhou did in the USA.

Huawei. Companies that sell phones in China have been threatened by the Chinese government through the state media, the latter saying that sales can be blocked at any time in the country. The situation between the US and China is very tense, but arresting the president of the most popular IT company on the planet would not be such a good move, and it would certainly not help Huawei to return to the US market, or to avoid other sanctions, which are now applied globally.

I was just there in October. I'm going back later this quarter. And so it's not something I'm even thinking about is the truth. I don't know the circumstances of that, and I don't need to know and shouldn't know. But what I can tell you is that I feel welcomed when I go there. I do believe that it is in the best interest of both countries to have a very strong trade relationship. This thing is a big agreement between the countries, and it's very complex and it clearly needs updating, there's no doubt about all of that. Business can play a very key role in bringing countries together.

Huawei. The scandal between the US and China started very far from the Chinese company, but it was at the center because it is the flagship company of the Chinese state, and the US managed to convince other allied countries to turn against it. China has very little chance of convincing important global countries to favor Huawei while banning Apple products, so it is unlikely that the American company's business will be affected beyond the Asian country.
