WhatsApp. The most popular messaging application on the planet has officially announced a critical problem by the company that develops it and all its users must know about its existence and how to try to solve it. According to WhatsApp, we are talking about a problem due to which spyware could be injected into iOS and Android phones by third parties, companies, the software being developed by a government intelligence agency in Israel, with global applicability.
WhatsApp. The spyware developed by the Israelis is able to activate the microphone or camera of the phones, but it can also collect emails, messages, or information about the locations visited by the users. Spyware can be installed in iPhone or Android phones, without the user knowing, and also without him knowing what is happening, the WhatsApp application being the one that facilitates the entire procedure, in total secrecy, unfortunately.
WhatsApp. ALERT! CRITICAL problem OFFICIALLY announced
WhatsApp. The vulnerability was discovered in May, and just last Sunday a lawyer of an NGO in Great Britain reported an attack carried out on him by means of this Israeli spyware. Those from WhatsApp managed to block the attack shortly after initiation, but it is not known how many phones were infected with this spyware until now, the American company trying to identify as many infected units as possible, to help clean them.
WhatsApp encourages people to upgrade to the latest version of our app, as well as keep their mobile operating system up to date, to protect against potential targeted exploits designed to compromise information stored on mobile devices. This attack has all the hallmarks of a private company known to work with governments to deliver spyware that reportedly takes over the functions of mobile phone operating systems.
WhatsApp. The American company also collaborates with NGOs from various areas around the world to inform them that they may be the targets of attacks based on this spyware developed by the Israelis, although it is difficult for them to protect themselves. In the meantime, all users are advised to install the latest version of the WhatsApp application because within it there is a solution for this critical problem exploited by spyware.
