Google applications are removed from all Android phones sold in a large country around the world, the American company also being fined for not offering consumers certain benefits in the devices. Turkey is the country that chose to go to war with Google because of Android, and the American company has announced to its partners that its applications will be excluded from any phone models that will be launched in the country from now on.
Everything starts from the fact that in 2018 Google was fined 17.4 million dollars by Turkey because it does not offer customers the opportunity to choose another predefined search engine for Android browsers, apart from Google Search. After the fine was imposed, Google had 6 months to modify its Android operating system, and its local partners, to provide options to change Google Search to another predefined search engine, but this did not happen.

Google started today to inform its partners in Turkey that it can no longer allow them to include its applications in the new phones launched there, it being fined again with a daily percentage equivalent to 0.05% of the local daily turnover. All Android phones that have already been launched in the country can still be sold with Google applications, but otherwise we end up in the situation in which Huawei is, only that here it is much more complicated than it seems.

Google offers through Google Play millions of applications for Android phone users, but in Turkey there are many manufacturers that, like Huawei, do not have any alternative that allows the replacement of Google Play. This means that all customers are affected by what is happening, and this while Google claims that it is working on a possible solution for the dispute with the authorities in Turkey to keep its users happy, as much as it can.
Google received a fine of several billion euros for exactly the same reason from the European Commission last year, and as Turkey is outside it, it took a similar action on its own.
