The iPhone 9 was known until recently as the iPhone SE 2, but the latter is not quite so appropriate since the phone is practically an updated version of the iPhone 8, and not one of the old iPhone SE.
iPhone 9 would be another series, like the iPhone 12 now prepared for launch by those from Cupertino, and according to the rumors of the last months, no less than 6 models could be put on sale in 2020.
iPhone 9 has never been seen by Apple's customers as a phone model that can be sold in several models, but it would not be excluded that a 5G version is being prepared by those in Cupertino now.
iPhone 9 should not be launched in two different models unless a 5G version appears at the end of the year, after the launch of the iPhone 12 series, and it will have support for 5G technology included by Apple for customers.
