The Christmas period of 2019 showed us again that those people who buy iPhone or iPad are still richer than those with Android terminals. The situation is revealed by the expenses made by these users in the App Store and Google Play, the difference between the amounts generated by the stores being huge.
The App Store generated $193 million in revenue on Christmas Day 2019 alone, while Google Play generated $84 million. Practically, the difference is huge, in favor of Apple customers, who have more money to spend on applications to be used with the iDevices they bought.
Spending on applications made on Christmas Day increased by 11.3% compared to the same period last year, but the biggest increase was at Apple. It is of course normal for it to be like that, because the Android platform is very popular in the majority of middle-class and very cheap phones.
The situation we are seeing this year is not new, it has been repeated every year since the app stores appeared, Google Play growing slowly, slowly, but at a slower pace than the App Store. The differences between the amounts generated by the App Store and Google Play are also large at the level of annual revenues, and this is also perfectly normal.
