The coronavirus is not a very big problem only for the manufacture of phones, tablets, laptops, and many other types of products, but also for the development of various updates for at least some models of Android phones sold now.
The coronavirus affected Xiaomi's ability to develop updates for phones with the Android operating system, and the company notified its fans about the situation it is going through, many companies in China being affected.
Xiaomi had announced that it would launch Android 10 on the Mi A3 phones, but due to the Coronavirus in China, its plans have been somewhat messed up, and it is not known when exactly the new update will be launched, although it is clear that it will not come too soon.
The coronavirus has affected many factories in China, with large numbers of employees refusing to return to work due to the fact that they could be infected, but even companies that develop software are affected by the virus that scared everyone.
At Xiaomi, business is critical but the value of human life is the topmost priority. We are working towards getting the final certification on the update and will communicate the rollout plan very soon.
I thank each one of you for your patience and continued support. (2/2)- Sumit Sonal (@sumitsonal) February 26, 2020
Xiaomi could be just one of the Chinese companies that are affected by this problem, and that's because there are many other phone manufacturers, or software for other products, that are going through the same situation at the moment.
