The number of new infections with the new Coronavirus has set record after record the past few days, and it is very likely that things will go in the same direction at least in the next week, things being extremely serious at the moment.
The coronavirus continues to be one of the biggest problems in Romania at the moment, and the authorities warn that we could return to the state of emergency if Romanians do not understand that they must protect themselves against infection.
"Until today, July 25, on the territory of Romania, 43.678 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
25.373 patients were declared cured and 3.106 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.284 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 2165 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 24.07.2020 (10:00) and 25.07.2020 (10:00) 15 deaths (12 men and 3 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Bacău, Brașov, were recorded , Buzău, Calarasi, Constanta, Gorj, Olt.
Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 7 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 1 death in the category over 80 years.
14 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had co-morbidities, and one deceased patient had no co-morbidities.
In specialized health facilities, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 6.292. Of these, 315 patients are admitted to ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 1.087.783 tests have been processed. Of these, 22.511 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13.182 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 9.329 on request. Also, since the last information provided by the GCS, the results of 11.616 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until July 25 have been reported.
On the territory of Romania, 1.467 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in home isolation, and 2.224 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 8.050 people are in home quarantine, and 27 are in institutional quarantine people.
In the last 24 hours, 979 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.540 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens."
