The last three days have brought us record after record in terms of the number of new cases of infection known as the Coronavirus, the authorities continuing to issue warnings for Romanians who still refuse to protect themselves properly against a possible infection.
Unfortunately, the number of people hospitalized in intensive care is still very high, and will continue to grow as the number of total infections continues to increase, so things are going from bad to very bad.
"Until today, July 26, on the territory of Romania, 44.798 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
25.643 patients were declared cured and 3.572 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.120 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 2.187 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 25.07.2020 (10:00) and 26.07.2020 (10:00) 22 deaths (17 men and 5 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Bihor, Brăila, were recorded , Constanța, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 3 in the age category 50-59 years, 6 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 8 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 3 deaths in the category over 80 years old.
20 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had co-morbidities, one deceased patient had no co-morbidities, and for another no co-morbidities have been reported to date.
In specialized health facilities, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 6.662. Of these, 351 patients are admitted to ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 1.102.901 tests have been processed. Of these, 15.098 were performed in the last 24 hours, 8.679 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 6.419 on request. Also, since the last information provided by the GCS, the results of 20 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until July 26 have been reported.
On the territory of Romania, 2.062 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 3.665 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 11.011 people are in home quarantine, and 9 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 746 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 2.388 contraventional sanctions, worth 506.460 lei.
Also, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police, a crime was detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
