Coronavirus Romania New Cases Cured January 11

In Romania, the Coronavirus pandemic remains strong, and we are talking about many cases reported every day in our country as the number of tests continues to increase, which is ultimately very good news.

Unfortunately, there are still many people hospitalized in intensive care, and many deaths, but these were expected since many new cases were constantly reported in the last weeks in our country by the authorities.

Fortunately, the vaccination campaign continues in force in Romania, over 108.000 Romanians have been vaccinated so far in our country, and everything will continue at an alert pace in the next period as the world becomes more and more interested.

"Until today, January 11, on the territory of Romania, 673.271 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

600.710 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.987 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 399 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 16.725 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 10.01.2021 (10:00) – 11.01.2021 (10:00) 71 deaths (48 men and 23 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, were reported , Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vâlcea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 20-29 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 11 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 23 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 22 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 11 deaths in the over 80 age category.

66 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, 4 deceased patients had no comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9.001. Of these, 1.083 are hospitalized at ATI.

Up to this date, at the national level, 5.024.629 tests have been processed. Of these, 7.005 were performed in the last 24 hours, 4.812 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 2.193 on request.

On the territory of Romania, 31.656 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 8.755 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 49.539 people are in home quarantine, and 73 people are in institutionalized quarantine."
