Coronavirus Romania New Cases Cured January 14, 2021

January 14, 2021 brings us new information about the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic in Romania, the figures from the last period showing a decrease to just under half of the cases recorded in October, which confirms the fact that the protective measures are working.

The authorities in our country expected that the number of new cases of Coronavirus would increase in the next period, but it seems that this is not happening, although there are still many deaths, and too many people hospitalized in intensive care.

On the other hand, more than 150.000 Romanians have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus up to now, the vaccination campaign continuing at an alert pace, which is very good news for a quick return to normalcy for us.

"Until today, January 14, on the territory of Romania, 684.917 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

614.545 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3.525 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 927 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 17.035 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 13.01.2021 (10:00) and 14.01.2021 (10:00) 66 deaths (44 men and 22 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș, were reported , Bacau, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Constanta, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iasi, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 3 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 8 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 15 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 15 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 25 deaths in the over 80 category.

63 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 3 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8.739. Of these, 1.101 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 5.104.229 RT-PCR tests and 29.829 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 26.709 RT-PCR tests (16.474 based on case definition and medical protocol and 10.235 on request) and 5.957 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 30.365 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 8.610 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 55.792 people are in home quarantine, and 109 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 In the last 24 hours, 2.493 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 674 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on January 13, 4.736 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 664.020 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a criminal file was drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 7.349 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1.941 in Italy, 1.455 in Spain, 173 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3.110 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 36 in Switzerland , 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in the Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 67 in Ireland and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican City, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore, Slovenia and the Russian Federation. From the beginning of the epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus) until this moment, 134 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 2 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece and one in Iran, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with infection with the new coronavirus, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
