The numbers of deaths and cases hospitalized in intensive care are also continuously decreasing thanks to the decreasing number of cases registered in Romania, so things seem to be getting better at this time of the year.

Vaccination is still not going in the right direction, and this is because there are not enough doses at the moment, so it is improbable that the vaccination rate that the Government wanted to reach will actually be reached in the following months.

"Until today, February 4, on the territory of Romania, 738.152 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

684.095 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 2.668 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

 

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 671 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 18.675 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

 

Between 03.02.2021/10/00 (04.02.2021:10) and 00/75/42 (33:XNUMX) XNUMX deaths (XNUMX men and XNUMX women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brașov, Calarasi, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanta, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galati, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iasi, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

 

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 9 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 19 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 23 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 22 deaths in the over 80 category.

 

71 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had co-morbidities, 1 deceased patient had no co-morbidities, and for 3 deceased patients no co-morbidities have been reported to date.

 

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.747. Of these, 984 are hospitalized at ATI.

 

Until this date, at the national level, 5.523.609 RT-PCR tests and 144.124 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 25.234 RT-PCR tests (16.477 based on case definition and medical protocol and 8.757 on request) and 7.267 rapid antigen tests were performed.

 

On the territory of Romania, 39.438 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10.257 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 58.469 people are in home quarantine, and 158 people are in institutionalized quarantine."
