Coronavirus Romania Increase in Cases March 13

The Coronavirus pandemic is again increasing in Romania, unfortunately, so we are once again talking about a very big problem for the authorities, the number of daily cases exceeding 5200 new infections this week, being on the rise compared to last week.

This increase in the number of cases also generates an increase in the occupancy of beds at ATI, but also the number of deaths, so the problems continue to grow in Romania due to the Coronavirus as new cases continue to be confirmed.

The good news is that we are talking about more and more Romanians being vaccinated daily against the Coronavirus, and this shows us that people are interested in immunizing themselves as more and more vaccine doses are expected in Romania by the authorities.

The difference compared to last Saturday is over 900 cases, or over 20%.

"Until today, March 13, on the territory of Romania, 855.326 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. 781.154 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 4.964 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 925 people were reconfirmed positive. Until today, 21.439 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 12.03.2021 (10:00) - 13.03.2021 (10:00) 79 deaths (39 men and 40 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Argeș, Bacău were reported , Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Ialomița, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 10-19 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 17 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 28 deaths in the over 80 age category.

77 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, 1 deceased patient had no comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 10.435. Of these, 1.203 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 6.312.856 RT-PCR tests and 428.904 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 24.696 RT-PCR tests (13.934 based on case definition and medical protocol and 10.762 on demand) and 10.710 rapid antigen tests were performed.

Also, since the last information provided by the GCS, the results of 1.718 RT-PCR tests and 17.396 rapid antigen tests, processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until March 13, have been reported

On the territory of Romania, 50.001 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 13.954 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 51.694 people are in home quarantine, and 111 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 4.074 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 631 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on March 12, 4.912 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 812.325 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
