Coronavirus Romania: New Official Cases Announced on April 29, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Official Cases Announced on April 29, 2021

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to decrease in intensity in Romania, with the daily number of cases continuing to decrease, and it would not be surprising if next week we drop again below 2000 new cases daily on working days, something that has not happened for a long time time.

Unfortunately, the number of deaths remains very high, and all because of increasingly serious cases, and even if there are fewer and fewer people in intensive care, this happens because there are more and more deaths, and that's how places are freed up.

The vaccination campaign seems to be at a plateau of a little over 80.000 people vaccinated daily, and a little over 50.000 new doses administered every day, so the goal of 5 million people vaccinated by June 1 will not be reached.

"Until today, April 29, on the territory of Romania, 1.053.629 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

985.827 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.850 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
