Coronavirus Romania: Number of New Cases as of May 2, 2021

Coronavirus Romania Number of New Cases May 2, 2021

Even though it is the first day of Easter, the Coronavirus pandemic continues in Romania, but in this second year things are much better than in the first, the third wave of infections being already in a substantial decrease, according to the authorities in our country.

Unfortunately, the number of deaths is still very high, even if the number of free beds at ATI has started to increase, the situation is still very serious from this point of view, which remains a very big problem.

The good part is that we still see many Romanians vaccinated against the Coronavirus, even during Easter, the appointments must be respected because it is difficult to get back in line to be immunized against the virus.

"Until today, May 2, on the territory of Romania, 1.057.655 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

995.506 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.083 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. *Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
