Coronavirus Romania: New Number of New Cases on May 26, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases on May 26, 2021

The new number of new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus shows us that the situation in our country is still surprisingly good with so few vaccinated people, but it is likely that the authorities' estimates regarding around 8-9 million Romanians immunized through vaccination and healing are real .

The same good situation is registered in hospitals, where approximately 600 people are still hospitalized in intensive care, less than half compared to a little over a month ago, and the number of deaths is also decreasing during this period.

Unfortunately, including the vaccination campaign, the daily figures of immunized people are decreasing, but the authorities are preparing new vaccination events to try to convince people to immunize themselves in the greatest possible number.

"Until today, May 26, on the territory of Romania, 1.076.533 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.035.902 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 379 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
