Coronavirus Romania: New Cases, Number Announced on May 29, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Cases, Number Announced on May 29, 2021

The authorities in Romania announced today a new number of new cases for May 29, 2021, and we are talking about a constant in terms of evolution, as few cases are still detected in our country, all thanks to a very large extent to the vaccination campaign that still It takes place.

Hospitals no longer have the same pressure placed on them, the number of people admitted to intensive care is still reduced, as is the number of deaths, so we are talking about a substantial improvement in the situation, mainly thanks to the reduction in the number of new cases.

The vaccination campaign is not going as well as it was a few weeks ago, and this is a major problem because in the fall we could have new waves of infections if a sufficiently large number of people are not vaccinated throughout the country during the summer.

"Until today, May 29, on the territory of Romania, 1.077.426 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.038.539 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 265 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
