Coronavirus Romania: New Number of New Cases from May 31, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases from May 31, 2021

The number of new cases of infection with the Coronavirus continues to decrease in Romania, and by the end of this week we could even reach less than 100 cases reported daily by the authorities, all thanks to a combination of vaccination with people who have been through the disease, and moving outdoor activities.

For some time, the hospitals no longer have a big pressure on them, the number of deaths also decreasing, and it is unlikely that until the fall things will change from this point of view, especially since there are almost 4.5 million Romanians who have been fully vaccinated already.

The vaccination campaign is no longer going at the same alert pace as two weeks ago, the number of those vaccinated with the first dose being in a constant decrease, which in the fall could lead to the reappearance of a strong wave of infections among those without immunity, or who went through the disease a long time ago.

"Until today, May 31, on the territory of Romania, 1.077.737 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.039.821 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 153 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
