A new number of new cases of Coronavirus has been published by the Romanian authorities for July 2, 2021, and you can see below that things are still good in our country, although it is not known for how long, unfortunately.
The vaccination campaign is not going in the right direction during this period, so it remains to be seen how the authorities will manage to boost it in order to offer Romanians the protection they need in the fall, when the 4th wave is going to hit our country.
"Until today, July 2, on the territory of Romania, 1.080.860 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
1.045.351 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 37 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.
**The total number of cases related to Dâmbovița, Hunedoara and Suceava counties has been updated.
The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates.
Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 9 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 33.898 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
In the interval 01.07.2021 (10:00) - 02.07.2021 (10:00) 37 deaths (26 men and 11 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Brașov hospitals, were reported by the INSP , Constanța, Gorj, Iasi, Maramureș, Olt and the City of Bucharest.
36 of these deaths are before the above-mentioned interval and were entered into the database, at the request of the Ministry of Health, by the Public Health Directorates in the country, following the checks carried out.
Thus, 7 of these took place in October 2020, 11 in November 2020, 1 in December 2020, 2 in January 2021, 3 in February, 4 in March 2021 and 8 in April 2021, in the counties of Alba, Brașov, Constanța, Gorj, Iasi, Maramureș, Olt.
Of the 37 deaths, 3 were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 2 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 5 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 12 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 15 deaths in the over 80 age category.
33 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 3 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 418. Of these, 67 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 8.375.802 RT-PCR tests and 1.481.313 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 14.119 RT-PCR tests (6.959 based on case definition and medical protocol and 7.160 on request) and 11.080 rapid antigen tests were performed.
On the territory of Romania, 1.788 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 733 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 18.646 people are in home quarantine, and 34 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 261 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 516 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on July 1, 400 contraventional sanctions, worth 103.500 lei.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures to verify the reported aspects."
