Coronavirus Romania Official Number of New Cases on July 13, 2021

The official number of new cases of Coronavirus announced on July 13, 2021 in Romania continues to confirm the fact that the pandemic is still reduced in intensity in the middle of summer, which comes as excellent news for everyone during this period.

You already know that the situation in Romanian hospitals is very good, the reduced number of cases in the last period easing the pressure that was put on the medical system in the previous months, but it is possible that the 4th wave of the Coronavirus will seriously change things.

There are still few vaccinations with the first dose done daily in Romania, but the authorities hope that before the arrival of the fourth wave of infections with the new Coronavirus, things will change from this point of view in our country.

"Until today, July 13, on the territory of Romania, 1.081.326 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.046.447 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 51 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 13 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 34.233 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 12.07.2021 (10:00) – 13.07.2021 (10:00) 14 deaths (8 men and 6 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Caraș, were reported by the INSP -Severin, Constanța, Iasi, Prahova and Sibiu.

10 of these deaths are before the above-mentioned interval and were entered into the database, at the request of the Ministry of Health, by the Public Health Directorates in the country, following the checks carried out.

Thus, 1 of these occurred in August 2020, 1 in September 2020, 2 in November 2020, 5 in December 2020 and 1 in March 2021, in Argeş and Iași counties.

Among the 14 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 2 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 4 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 3 deaths in the over 80 age category.

All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 288. Of these, 52 are hospitalized at ATI.  

Until this date, at the national level, 8.490.322 RT-PCR tests and 1.604.929 rapid antigenic tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 12.559 RT-PCR tests (6.084 based on case definition and medical protocol and 6.475 on request) and 15.100 rapid antigen tests were performed. 

On the territory of Romania, 1.912  people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in home isolation, and 614 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 23.997 people are in home quarantine, and 23 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 304 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 764 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on July 12, 378 contraventional sanctions, worth 52.560 lei.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures to verify the reported aspects."
