Valeriu Gheorghita made an extremely worrying announcement about the 4th wave in Romania, and this is because things are going in the direction of a serious increase in the number of cases, their reproduction rate being 1.2 now, any value above 1 being worrying and announcing a rapid increase in cases.
Valeriu Gheorghita says that the cumulative weekly incidence rate of the number of new cases has increased by almost 100% from one week to the next, and unfortunately 90% of the unvaccinated young and elderly are now infected.
"Regarding the situation in Romania, the cumulative incidence rate of cases for the last week, in week 29, has increased by almost one hundred percent compared to the previous week, and if we look at the basal reproduction rate of cases, it is almost of 1,2, that R0 factor, and we also have an increasing trend in the percentage of positive tests, being around 0,6 -0,7 %. All these indicators show us that at the moment we are on an upward slope in the number of cases.
We see that today 175 cases were reported and I looked, there is also an important number of people in the age group over 60 who are confirmed with infection, or here I would draw, once again and emphasize the importance of vaccination those over 60-65 years old who are vulnerable and who have an increased risk of developing severe forms and those who are on record with chronic conditions."
