Coronavirus Romania: New Official Number of New Cases on July 31, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Official Number of New Cases on July 31, 2021

The new official number of new cases from July 31 was published by the Romanian authorities, and as you can see, the situation is evolving negatively with an increase in the number of new cases in our country compared to the previous week, the trend being one in serious growth.

The authorities in Romania have predicted that by the end of July there will be 200 new cases of infection per day and we are close to this figure, the Delta variant increasing the daily number of infections, and this will again put pressure on hospitals, especially on the ATI sections where there are the fewest seats.

The vaccination campaign has been stagnant for some time, and things do not seem to be improving, unfortunately, something that I have seen repeatedly and which does not seem likely to change soon, so it remains to be seen how will wave 4 evolve.

"Until today, July 31, on the territory of Romania, 1.083.189 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.047.723 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 156 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
