Coronavirus Romania: Number of New Cases Reported on August 1, 2021

Coronavirus Romania Number of New Cases Reported on August 1, 2021

The new number of new cases from August 1, 2021 was published by the authorities in our country and it continues to show us that the trend is an increasing one, as we have already announced, so it is expected that the number of cases will grow exponentially in the following weeks.

The situation in hospitals is calm for now, but the authorities expect the number of hospitalized patients, especially at ATI, to increase due to the rapid spread of the Delta variant of the Coronavirus, the most contagious so far, unfortunately.

The vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus is not progressing as the authorities would like, or as it should, so there are still small numbers regarding daily immunizations, but perhaps an increase in the number of new cases will change things for this important process.

"Until today, August 1, on the territory of Romania, 1.083.341 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.047.767 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 152 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
