A new number of new cases of Coronavirus has been officially announced for Romanians all over the country and we are talking about a negative evolution for the epidemic situation in our country, something that many did not believe when the warnings came from the experts.
The situation in hospitals remains calm despite the fact that the number of cases continues to increase, so it is possible that at the end of the month things will be much worse due to the 4th wave of the Coronavirus, and deaths will start to increase.
The vaccination campaign against Coronavirus is not going in the right direction, the number of immunized Romanians is still very small, but the authorities hope that people will change their minds after the restrictions return to Romania at the beginning of autumn.
"Until today, August 2, on the territory of Romania, 1.083.478 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
1.047.778 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 137 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 21 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 34.291 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
In the interval 01.08.2021 (10:00) – 02.08.2021 (10:00) the INSP reported 5 deaths (2 men and 3 women), of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Călărași County, Cluj, Neamt, Satu Mare and Timiș.
Of these, 1 was registered in the age category 50-59 years, 1 in the age category 60-69 years, 1 in the age category 70-79 years and 2 in the age category over 80 years.
All deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.
No deaths are reported prior to the reference interval.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 433. Of these, 63 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 8.709.136 RT-PCR tests and 1.863.420 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 4.868 RT-PCR tests were performed (1.817 based on case definition and medical protocol and 3.051 on request) and 7.733 rapid antigen tests.
On the territory of Romania, 1.080 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 556 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 49.126 people are in home quarantine, and 77 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 390 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on August 1, 489 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 90.850 lei."
