Coronavirus Romania: Increase in the Number of New Cases on August 8, 2021

Coronavirus Romania Increase in Number of New Cases August 8, 2021

The number of new cases of Coronavirus continues to increase in Romania, so that in the last 24 hours a higher number was recorded than the one officially announced a week ago, and the predictions of the specialists continue to come true, unfortunately.

In hospitals, the situation is calm for now, but unfortunately the increase in the number of new cases generates more hospitalizations and more people who end up in intensive care, and by September it is expected that the situation will become more difficult.

In the case of the vaccination campaign, things are about the same, that is, a few daily immunizations are generated and the authorities expect an increase only after the number of new cases will be high enough to convince people to immunize themselves.

"Until today, August 8, on the territory of Romania, 1.084.919 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.048.548 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 208 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
