The number of new cases of Coronavirus is constantly increasing in recent days, the authorities announcing that this could happen, and now we see that it is happening exactly as they predicted, unfortunately for us, and the situation is becoming very serious.
Hospitals are prepared for a new wave of hospitalizations throughout the country, both in normal and intensive care units, in both of which many Romanians who have been infected with the new Coronavirus are already arriving, the Delta variant being at the center of this problem.
As you already know very well, the vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus has not been going in the direction desired by the authorities for some time, and this does not seem to change soon, so it remains to be seen what exactly will happen in the next period.
"Until today, August 25, 1.092.971 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed on the territory of Romania.
1.052.478 patients were declared cured. We specify that the number of people cured is the one valid for August 24 this year and could not be updated due to a technical situation.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 849 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 34.453 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
In the interval 24.08.2021 (10:00) – 25.08.2021 (10:00) the INSP reported 14 deaths (7 men and 7 women), of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Arad counties, Bistrita-Năsăud, Brașov, Călărași, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Hunedoara, Neamț, Prahova, Ilfov and the City of Bucharest.
Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 1 in the age category 50-59, 5 in the age category 60-69 years, 2 in the age category 70-79 years and 4 in the category over 80 years.
11 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities, and for 2 comorbidities have not been reported to date.
No deaths are reported prior to the reference interval.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1.564. Of these, 212 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 9.011.886 RT-PCR tests and 2.270.817 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 15.547 RT-PCR tests (6.289 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9.258 on demand) and 21.451 rapid antigen tests were performed.
On the territory of Romania, 4.619 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 1.581 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 60.001 people are in home quarantine, and 67 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 924 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 570 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on August 24, 388 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 105.250 lei. Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.
