Coronavirus Romania: Increase in the Number of New Cases on August 29, 2021

Coronavirus Romania Increase in the Number of New Cases August 29, 2021

A new increase in the number of new cases of Coronavirus was officially announced on August 29, 2021 by the Romanian authorities, the evolution being an increasing one with almost 2 times more new cases registered yesterday compared to last Saturday.

The evolution of hospitalizations in hospitals is also a negative one, with more and more people being hospitalized both in intensive care and in the wards dedicated to COVID, so we will most likely talk about more deaths in the future, unfortunately.

Even the vaccination campaign is not increasing in intensity at the moment, even if the number of new cases of Coronavirus has exploded due to the Delta variant, so it is unlikely that things will change too soon in our country.

"Until today, August 29, 1.096.753 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) were confirmed on the territory of Romania.

1.054.246 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 868 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 87 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.
